2003 Jaguar XK8  Coupe 

“Grace, Space, Pace” – Jaguar's advertising slogan for many decades after it first appeared in the 1950s.  Jaguar's iconic emblem and former hood ornament is known as The Leaper.  The face-on chrome embossed emblem is known as The Grinner.  Jaguar has won the 24 Hours of Lemans, the world's oldest sports car endurance race, seven times.  The first time in 1951 and the last time in 1990.  Regardless of all the facts, the most fascinating thing about Jaguars is driving one.

For consignment, an XK8 Jaguar coupe from 2003. This car has come to us via California and is being offered by the second owner.  A title verified super low mileage, (9,011), example in Midnight Mica Metallic, (say that 10 times real fast,) or you could just say black…(radio silence!).  The design is courtesy shades of 60's yore and the XKE and a powerful engine, all I can say is any prey out there on the roads better watch their backs.

Exterior
With its rounded aerodynamic looks, integrated head and tail lights, oval grille reminiscent of the XKE series, this car in its Midnight Mica Metallic, exudes sexiness and the sports car feel.  Very nice straight lines for this high strength steel minding its gaps, and near flawless factory applied paint.  The near flawless ranking is due to a few notable dings on the passengers door along with a large ding on the roof.  This body is peppered with a light coating of chromed accenting including the front “grinner” cat badge.  Bloody tasteful I'd say cracking mate!  19-inch spit edge 5 spoke mag wheels are wrapped in low profile 245/40ZR19's in front and slightly larger 255/50R19's on back all from the 20th week of 2008 manufacture date.  A beautifully rounded rear has the “aero” tail lights and a body matching neoprene bumper below with an exhaust pipe peeking out of either side.

Interior
Dove Gray leather, in good condition, adorns the puffy luxurious rounded interior, much like the steel does on the body.  The interior seating consists of front buckets and a very tight 2+2 rear bench.  Fronting these is a highly lacquered burl dash, which has plenty of knobs and dials including a navigation screen, climate controls, an AM/FM/Cassette stereo with trunk mounted CD changer, cruise control, heated power seats with 3 memory positions, power mirrors, power windows and power locks.  A console mounted shift lever has the option to shift manually or just keep it in automatic and is also mounted in a field of burl within the center console.  Peering upward reveals a gray broadcloth headliner that has nearly a entire college thesis worth of staples holding it up.  Down low, gray carpeting floods the floors and if you like buttons this car will keep you occupied for a while, BUT keep your eyes on the road and click it or ticket! (Thx Government for protecting me!)

Drivetrain
A 4.2 Liter fuel injected  DOHC V8 with variable cam phasing puts out 294hp and is connected to a ZF 6HP26 6-speed automatic transmission.  Not only does this transmission give far better fuel economy than its 5-speed predecessor but it clocks in at 27lbs lights as well.  There is a 3.06 rear axle for turning the tires.  Under the hood is all clean and wrapped in plastic coverings.

Undercarriage 
All underneath appearing all but new, very clean with no rust and structurally secure aluminum & steel stamped floor pans and black painted structural steel and undercarriage suspension parts.  This cat rides on double wishbone independent suspension all around and power disk braking is also on all 4 corners for when you need to claw to a stop.

Drive-Ability
A good running, smooth shifting,  from this low miles clean Jaguar XK8, and it plays all the parts of a nearly new car very well.  It's very clean and drives nicely with all smooth operations and all these buttons actually working.  I say just a fabulous cheeky aero looking cat.

Low miles and well taken care of is the story of this cat's life, which has only been through 2 lives so there are 7 more to go.  You'll be the talk of the neighborhood when you roll up in this beauty.
