For a long time Alfa Romeo spiders are seen as a tradition for the Milanese brand. Now far from the style of the small Giulia spiders or even the Duetto, the Brera Spider still retains a personality and a strong charm, as well as a very tastefully driving car.
Elected convertible car of the year in 2006, the Brera Spider is derived from the 2+2 coupe released one year earlier. Available in two petrol versions, a 2.2l 16V engine with 185 hp and a V6 3.2l engine coming from General Motors with 260 hp, this one will be fitted with a 4 wheels drive transmission, the first one in the history of Alfa Romeo. On the road the Brera shows itself to be a very sound car and pleasant to drive. Its overall handling, suspension and steering cannot be criticized, according to its very low 34 200 km mileage. This specimen is in very nice conditions. The bodywork is in good condition with some soft slight signs of normal wear consistent with the car's age, while the electric convertible hood suffers no defect. The passenger compartment is also very well protected, with a very nice leather what proves that the car was not excessively exposed to the sun. The V6 engine is very flexible, but it makes itself heard with a pleasant sonority when the throttles are opened up to make full use of the 260 bhp. The 6-speed manual box is easy to use. The 4-wheel drive gives a sense of security even in slippery driving conditions. Overall, this car is a real pleasure to drive. The 4-wheel drive system, the willing engine and the electrically operated hood all make for a lovely and original vehicle which can be used daily, whether in town or under the sun of the French Riviera.
Finally, we must indicate this Brera Spider is a very rare model in France, and that it is difficult to find a Pininfarina convertible for such an attractive price.
