Bryan Wieferich '02

Bryan Wieferich, ‘02 is a strong ambassador for Central Michigan University in many ways. His dedication and commitment to CMU are evident in his continuous involvement and volunteer work surrounding the university. Bryan has served on the CMU Honors Program Alumni Board for more than 12 years, 11 of those as president. During that tenure, he helped develop and raise funds for an endowed Honors Program Alumni Scholarship awarded to top junior and senior students. As a result, the Honors Program Alumni Board has given out $500-$1,500 in scholarships each year since 2003. In addition to his service on the board, he regularly attends Honors Program events, often volunteering his time to serve as an alumni ambassador at the Honors Program graduation ceremony.

In addition to his commitment to the Honors Program, Bryan has served the past several years as the PA announcer for the CMU football and basketball teams. As the voice of the Chippewas pride can be heard in his delivery. These games encouraged attendance and support for CMU basketball and football programs. 

Bryan, who earned his bachelor’s degree in Personal Financial Planning, serves as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with Waddell & Reed, Inc. He has been with the firm for over 12 years. Bryan is also an active member of the Mount Pleasant community, helping to organize the first annual Mount Pleasant Craft Beer Festival this past summer, a major economic development project for the local community. Bryan was recently appointed to the CMU Development Board and has served in that capacity for just over a year.
