For those of us who first saw Robert Pattinson on our screens in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, we’ve been with this man through it all. We put up Twilight posters in our rooms and read every single tabloid story about his IRL relationship with Kristen Stewart. We sat through that one movie that was supposed to be a romance and then at the last minute turned out to be a 9/11 movie (what??). We watched as he went down a real indie film road, playing strange character after strange character in movies that were honestly kind of hard to even locate on streaming services. And we’re about to finally be rewarded for all that patient waiting, because Robert’s Batman movie is finally hitting theaters this weekend.

In honor of that, we’ve made a very tight list of the 10 best movies Robert Pattinson has ever made, with very sophisticated and intelligent explanations for why they’re on this list. Note: These picks are intentionally not ranked. I’m sorry, it’s simply too hard to do that.

Robert in his cape and emo makeup era!! We love to see it! There was a lot of speculation and hype around this movie before it even came out, which meant it had a lot to live up to. Thankfully, it does. Enjoy three full hours of Robert!

Tenet

If you asked me to recount the plot of this film for you, I simply could not. It is so confusing. But Robert is in it and he has a cute little accent (which will be a common theme on this list), and therefore it earns a spot.

Good Time

This movie will have you literally sweating. Robert plays Connie, a bank robber who’s trying to get his brother out of prison and outrun the police. If you’re looking to be the most stressed you’ve ever been, watch this bad boy.

The King

Another entry in the “Robert does an accent” canon! But this time, it’s French? Kind of?? And he’s wearing a blonde wig. I really don’t know what else I need to say to sell you on this.

The Lighthouse

Okay, The Lighthouse is weird. WEIRD. But it’s also…an absolutely wild ride? I didn’t know I needed old-timey lighthouse keeper Robert in my life, but here we are!

High Life

There aren’t a lot of people who’ve seen High Life, but Robert stars alongside a really adorable small child, so it’s worth a watch for that alone.

Twilight

You didn’t think we could make this list without including at least one of the movies that made Robert the object of every fifth grader’s desire circa 2008, did you?

Twilight: Eclipse

And this one earns a place simply because Robert’s not really in the second movie and the last two are bad. Cheers, Eclipse!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

This is the least humble brag, but I saw this movie when I was in fourth grade and distinctly remember telling someone in my class the next day, “The kid who played Cedric is gonna be, like, so famous.” The only real reason I had to believe that was because he was the hottest guy at Hogwarts, but damn, I WAS RIGHT.

The Devil All the Time

This is not a good movie, but it is the best pronunciation of the word “delusions” I’ve ever heard in my life. It earns a place here because of the commitment to the bit.

Disclosure: This is not a movie. But just watch it and you’ll understand why it ended up on this list. You’re welcome.
