Today, households across America woke up to the news that NBC had fired Today show co-host Matt Lauer after allegations of "inappropriate sexual behavior." The aftermath of the announcement included on-air statements from Matt's current coworkers Megyn Kelly and Savannah Guthrie, but what a lot of people are wondering is how former Today co-host Ann Curry must feel.

Fans of the morning show will remember that Curry left the network in 2012. She never gave a concrete reason for her departure, but it was widely rumored that Lauer's dislike of her was the force behind it. A New York magazine article explained:

If Matt Lauer doesn't want to be seen with sharp knives, it's because last summer his co-host Ann Curry was discovered with one in her back. Lauer has been the prime suspect in Curry's virtual demise. The image of Matt Lauer trying to comfort her—and of Curry turning away from his attempted kiss—has become a kind of monument to the real Matt Lauer, forensic evidence of his guilt.
