Young engaged couple revealed as the third lucky Powerball winners - as they vow to spend a slice of their $23.3 million fortune on their big day

  • The couple from Perth won a share of the $70 million Powerball
  • They were one of three to win $23.3 million for Thursday's draw
  • A couple from Shellharbour, in southern NSW, pocketed a windfall
  • A family from Ayr, in Queensland, also celebrated winning the lottery

An engaged couple from Western Australia have taken home $23.3 million from last week's $70 million Powerball draw.

They are the last of the lottos three big winners to be revealed.

The young man chose his lucky ticket at Cockburn, south of Perth, at random - unaware it was a jackpot draw.

Overjoyed to have money to fund their wedding and help their families, the young couple have also claimed the fourth largest prize money in the history of Western Australia, Perth Now reports.

It wasn't until his fiancée had tagged him in a post on Facebook that he felt an urge to take a look at his ticket.

'I had a weird feeling I should check my ticket on my way home from work on Friday when normally I would have waited, it's as if we knew,' he said.

Struggling to accept his winnings the young man is waiting to wake up from a dream.

'We've never won more than $48 before and we got excited that we could purchase another Lotto ticket with the winnings,' he said.

The multimillionaire couple have already started spending some of the money, upgrading their flights for a holiday to first class and spending some of it by helping their families.

'We've always helped people and our family even before we had money so it's great we'll be able to make more of a difference now,' said the man.

Along with the couple from Western Australia, two families have revealed their shock after winning $23.3 million each from Thursday's lottery draw.

A hard-working couple in their 40s from Shellharbour, two hours south of Sydney, in NSW, and a family from Ayr in Queensland began celebrating on Friday after finding out they were the proud owners of a lucky 'golden' ticket.

The NSW couple were over-the-moon and had lost sleep thinking about how to spend their millions, the Morning Bulletin reports.

'I haven't slept a wink since I checked our Powerball ticket last night on the internet and discovered we'd won first division! I must admit I've been a bit of a mess ever since - I still can't believe this,' the winning man declared.

'I'm not usually a superstitious person but I was actually sitting in my car the other day and thought to myself that I really should get a Powerball ticket because the jackpot had reached $70 million.

'After we checked our ticket, my wife and I talked non-stop all night about what we can do with our prize money.'

The happy pair plan to spend their winnings on upgrading their house and boat, travelling and giving money to their children.

Also celebrating are a north Queensland family, who were left speechless after having their win confirmed.

The lucky numbers were 3, 15, 19, 26, 35, and 1. The Powerball number was 18

According to the Courier Mail, the wife was only able to whisper 'wow' when she first found out.

'It was all over town this morning that a $23.3 million winning Powerball ticket had been sold in Ayr and someone jokingly said to us that they think they had the winning ticket,' she told the newspaper.

'My husband and I decided to jump on the internet and check our entry and we couldn't believe it when we discovered that we had the winning ticket.'

Three winners from NSW, Queensland and Western Australia all shared the $70 million jackpot.

On Friday morning, NSW Lotteries made a plea for the Shellharbour couple to come forward after it was discovered they had not registered their Players Club Card and officials had no way of contacting them.
