When Britney began dating wholesome NSYNC star Justin Timberlake in 1999 — fans all over the world saw them as America's golden couple.

But Britney shocked the world in 2023, when she revealed she had got pregnant by Timberlake in 2000 with the singer undergoing an abortion because the N*Sync star 'didn't want to be a father.'

The Toxic hitmaker, who dated Timberlake, 42, until 2002, detailed the 'agonizing' decision to terminate the pregnancy in her upcoming memoir, The Woman In Me — after conceiving in late 2000 when the pair were both 19, DailyMail.com can confirm.

The star claimed that while she wanted the baby and 'dreamed of having a family' with Timberlake, he 'wasn't ready' for the responsibilities of parenthood and thought the pair were too young.

She writes in an excerpt obtained by People: 'It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.

'He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.

'I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.'

The star said the abortion was 'one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life' in the memoir.

The New York Times has published many more bombshells from the book including the shocking revelation that she was put on medication as a teenager to deal with the ills of life in the spotlight.

She wrote in her memoir that she 'couldn't help but notice' that chat shows would ask her different types of questions than what would be asked of Timberlake as whether or not she got breast implants was a major topic of conversation.

'Everyone kept making strange comments about my breast, wanting to know whether or not I’d had plastic surgery.'

A few years later, Spears famously went out with early 2000s party girls including Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan but insisted that she 'never had a drinking problem' nor an interest in hard drugs but described her 'drug of choice' as ADHD medication Adderall.

The first signs of Spears' declining mental health came in February 2006 when she was pictured driving with her then five-month-old son Sean Preston on her lap while holding the wheel with one hand.

Spears was being followed by photographers when she stopped off near her home in Malibu, California, and sent her minder into a Starbucks for some drinks.

At first, she was unrepentant and said: "I had a horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi while I was with my baby," she said.

"I was terrified they would put us in danger. I instinctively took measures to get my baby and me out of harm's way."

Her comments prompted wide-spread criticism.

She later took partial responsibility, saying: 'I made a mistake and so it is what it is, I guess.'

As she walked to her car, her trousers appeared to get tangled in her open-toed shoes just as she tried to step around a pothole, according to witnesses.

As Britney stumbled, her son's head whipped back in a "violent manner," his chubby arms desperately reached for his mother and his tiny hat was flung to the ground, according to the New York Post.

Fortunately, Britney's quick-thinking bodyguard was on hand, and he caught Sean Preston before his head hit the floor.

Britney was said to be distraught over the accident and burst into tears.

In 2007, Britney infamously shaved her head at a hair salon in Tarzana, a suburb of Los Angeles, one day after she left a rehab facility in Antigua. Britney later re-entered treatment.

As a result, a year later she was put under a court-ordered conservatorship in 2008 which granted her father Jamie Spears and a lawyer total control over her financial and personal affairs.

Britney also revealed that due to the conservatorship she was prohibited from keeping the look as she wrote: 'Under the conservatorship I was made to understand that those days were now over.

'I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take.'

As she was in the midst of going through a painful divorce with Kevin Federline and was constantly in the public eye, the mother-of-two opened up on what led her to that moment in her memoir.

Harrowing: Days after shaving her head, Britney attacked a paparazzi photographer's car with an umbrella

She wrote: 'I’d been eyeballed so much growing up. I’d been looked up and down, had people telling me what they thought of my body, since I was a teenager.

'Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back.'

Days after shaving her head, Britney attacked a paparazzi photographer's car with an umbrella.

She was driving through a Mobil gas station in Tarzana in a silver Mercedes with her cousin at the time, and being relentlessly pursued by photographers.

Her cousin Alli Sims begged the photographers to leave her alone, but Britney snapped, leaping out of the car screaming 'f*** you!' and swinging the umbrella like an axe.

She used it to stab Romos' Ford Explorer, cracking the windows and leaving dents in the body, before dropping the umbrella and fleeing.

Britney later apologized via statement on her website, explaining the outburst was down to a character she was auditioning for.

'I apologize to the pap for a stunt that was done 4 months ago regarding an umbrella,' she wrote. 'I was preparing my character for a role in a movie where the husband never plays his part so they switch places accidentally.

'I take all my roles very seriously and got a little carried away. Unfortunately I didn’t get the part.'

She said in her memoir: 'With my head shaved, everyone was scared of me, even my mom.

'Flailing those weeks without my children, I lost it, over and over again. I didn’t even really know how to take care of myself.'

Britney gave an even more intimate look into her life at the time as she continued: 'I am willing to admit that in the throes of severe postpartum depression, abandonment by my husband, the torture of being separated from my two babies, the death of my adored aunt Sandra, and the constant drumbeat of pressure from paparazzi, I’d begin to think in some ways like a child.'

The arrangement doled out a $2,000-per-week allowance for the songstress, but her father paid himself around $16,000 per month to run the conservatorship, and her former court-appoint attorney Samuel Ingham III was paid a yearly salary of $520,000, according to the New Yorker

In March 2019, Andrew Wallet resigned as co-conservator of her estate after 11 years and Spears entered a psychiatric facility amidst stress from her father's illness that same month.

The Free Britney movement gained momentum that year after it was claimed her conservatorship was originally due to end in 2009 and that Jamie had canceled the residency due to Spears's refusal to take her medication.

Celebrities including Cher and Miley Cyrus lent their support to the movement.

That conservatorship has been the subject of intense media scrutiny, heightened by the release of the 2021 documentary Framing Britney Spears, which in turn led to the growth of a worldwide movement – played out largely online – to end the conservatorship, under the hashtag 'FreeBritney'.

Four months after the documentary was screened, Britney broke her silence during a legal hearing in which she asked the judge to bring the conservatorship to an end, proclaiming: 'I just want my life back.' She added: 'It's enough and it makes no sense at all. I'm done.'

Britney shocked her fans when she testified in June 2021 that her conservatorship, which was put in place in 2008, prevented her from getting married or even having another child.

'I want to be able to get married and have a baby,' she said during a conservatorship hearing in 2021.

'I was told right now in the conservatorship, I'm not able to get married or have a baby, I have an IUD inside of myself right now so I don't get pregnant.'

Her wish was granted six months later, in November 2021, when a judge officially terminated the conservatorship.

A short while later, the couple announced in a joint statement that they had experienced a pregnancy loss.

'It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,' the couple said Saturday. 'This is a devastating time for any parent.

'Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.

She released Tinashe collab Slumber Party in 2016 - meeting her future husband Sam Asghari on the set after she hired him as one of the models.

The songstress selected Sam herself for the role after his photos were sent to her.

'It was a direct book,' Sam recalled to ET Online. 'A good friend of mine was working on the music video at the time. They told the casting director to cast this guy and then they sent my pictures to [Britney] and she picked it. "I want this guy" - and so that's how it was.'

Soon after, Britney was calling him to grab sushi.

'We talked at the music video [and] we talked about what do you like to eat, sushi,' he recounted. '...Then text messages and next thing you know, just like a normal couple.'

The pair tied the knot in A lavish affair held at the superstar's home in Thousand Oaks.

Spears would regain visitation rights to her sons in July 2008 and began a return to the spotlight with a documentary and TV appearances.

She would share occasional snapshots of her with the boys over the years – beaming at the camera at a baseball match, celebrating birthday dinners, splashing around in a swimming pool – suggested a tender bond between mother and sons was forged.

But Federline was reportedly given 70 percent custody in 2019.

In 2022 Spears' strained relationship with her sons became evident.

Kevin  notably has full custody over their two boys and made the decision to move the family from Los Angeles to Hawaii recently.

Sean and Jayden decided not to attend her June wedding to American-Iranian model Sam Asghari, their father previously revealed to DailyMail.com.

In 2022 Federline said that the 'boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,' noting it has been a difficult few months for them since a judge ruled in November to end her 13-year conservatorship.

In the months since, Spears took advantage of her newfound freedom by posting almost nude selfies to Instagram, much to her sons' disgust, Federline said.

Following these remarks, Spears accused her sons of 'abandoning her' and 'being hateful' in a now deleted Instagram post, after which Federline posted a video allegedly showing the singer 'screaming' at her sons when they were younger. That video has also now been removed.

But Federline was reportedly given 70 percent custody in 2019.

The children then stopped their overnight stays. Their monitors visits became less frequent, until they decided to stop visiting their mom earlier in 2022.

In an Instagram video, Spears went on to admonish her kids for 'making the claims that "she's not good now" and "she wants attention."

Spears' Instagram rant came after her sons spoke out about their relationship in a 60 Minutes interview.

Jayden said during the interview that there is 'no hate' towards his mother, but he said, 'it will take a lot of time and effort' to repair their fractured relationship.

'I 100% think this can be fixed. It's just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again. '

Speaking directly to their mother, he adds: 'I love you a lot, I hope for the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down like this and talk again.'

Spears was hit in the face during an encounter with NBA star Victor Wembanyama's security guard when she ran up to the sporting star outside a restaurant in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Police Department's investigation found that Spears had actually been the one to hit herself in the face after the security guard protecting the French 19-year-old pushed her hand off him.

Amid the continuing fallout of the incident, Spears posted a meme that read: 'you will smile again,' and asked in the caption: 'When's that God ???'

Her post came after it emerged Spears 'wanted an apology,' with a source close to the singer telling DailyMail.com the guard's actions were dangerous and 'disgusting'.

Spears herself on said she did not blame Wembanyama, but she felt she had been treated unfairly.

She wrote on Instagram that she did not want to claim she was a victim, but added: 'I don't feel like I have been treated as an equal person in this country.'

It has also been alleged Spears once gave Asghari a black eye as he slept and that the actor told friends that the pop princess  would attack him during their seven years together, according to TMZ.

Spears and Asghari wed in June 2022 but had been together since 2016.

In September 2023 Spears sparked concern among her fans as she performed a dangerous dance with huge kitchen knives.

The pop icon employed two knives as props in the silent clip as she shared a new video with her 42.1 million Instagram followers.

The hitmaker was scantily clad in swimsuit bottoms and a crop top as she appeared in the foyer of her California home while whizzing the two kitchen utensils in a dizzying piece of improvised choreography.

Britney assured fans in the caption: 'I started playing in the kitchen with knives today!!! Don’t worry they are NOT real knives!!!'

The singer bared her toned abs in the low-rise white bottoms and displayed her cleavage in a deep-cut orange top with white polka dots.

Britney has been locked in a feud with sister Jamie-Lynn for years after previously accusing her of doing 'nothing' to help her during her conservatorship.

Jamie Lynn and the rest of the Spears family were not invited to her 2022 wedding to Sam Asghari.

In a July interview with Variety, Jamie Lynn said she has 'absolute love' for Britney but admitted that the backlash she received from the 'Free Britney' movement as well as her big sister's scathing posts were 'hard' for her to deal with.

'I have nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members. If I learned anything from last year, being so open and feeling like I had to defend myself at times, I don't feel like there's anything else that I need to say,' she told the outlet of her relationship with Britney.

'I just have to leave it where it is because those conversations are meant to be personal. All I can focus on now is my girls, my husband and the work that I’m doing.'

Bad blood: In January Jamie Lynn talked candidly about being eclipsed by her big sister's success; seen in 2003 in Santa Monica

In January, Jamie Lynn talked candidly about being eclipsed by her big sister's stardom, saying in one headline-grabbing sound-bite: 'I'm so proud of her, love her to death but I don't know. Sometimes I feel like I don't really have anything for myself.'

Another major instigator of one of their fallout was Jamie Lynn's tell-all memoir, in which she accused the singer of once seizing a knife and locking herself in a room with her because she 'didn't feel safe.'

At the time, Britney slammed her sibling for spreading 'crazy lies' about her in the book, and a public war of words raged between the pair.

Britney also revealed that she wasn’t happy when Jamie Lynn used her music in a performance at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. “I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes,” she wrote. “My so-called support system hurt me deeply!!!!”

She recently reconciled with Jamie Lynn, revealing in an Instagram post uploaded on June 21 that she had a 'nice' visit with her younger sibling on the set of the latter's film Zoey 102.

This came as a shock to fans as Britney had been putting Jamie Lynn on blast as recently as January when she slammed her for saying 'it was hard' being her sibling.

Their mother Lynne Spears had reportedly been 'begging' Britney to meet with Jamie Lynn in the weeks leading up to their reunion.

Family at war: Britney has repeatedly slammed Jamie over his decision to place her under the conservatorship and claimed the arrangement was 'allowing my dad to ruin my life'  (pictured with Jamie, mom Lynne and their son Brian)

Britney has repeatedly slammed Jamie over his decision to place her under the conservatorship and claimed the arrangement was 'allowing my dad to ruin my life.'

She accused her family of purposely instigating her 'angry tantrums' and 'crazy' behavior, which led to her undergoing a number of psych evaluations 'against my will.'

She further alleged that Jamie and the rest of the family were staying at her home in Jackson Beach, Florida at the time and that her father 'didn't care to ask what was going on then.'

Britney also told the court that she was 'always extremely scared' of Jamie while growing up due to his struggles with alcohol.

By August 2021, after continued efforts in the courts by Britney's new lawyer Mathew S. Rosengart, Jamie agreed to step down as conservator.

In her memoir Spears has recalled how Jamie, tauntingly declared 'I'm Britney Spears now' after he was controversially appointed as the conservator of her finances and personal life in 2008.

The singer has shared heartbreaking new details about the way in which her every action was monitored during the 13-year conservatorship, arguing that nothing she had done prior warranted her being 'treated like [she] was a bank robber'.

In excerpts obtained by The New York Times, the mother-of-two revealed that her unfair treatment, which saw her being looked after like she was 'too sick' to make basic decisions but 'somehow healthy enough' to continue working non-stop, made her realize that she was simply regarded as a 'cash flow' for her family.

Britney also claims that her father threatened her with court if she didn't agree to another stint in rehab in 2018, and said she would look like an 'idiot' if she refused.

Recalling the early days of her conservatorship, she wrote: 'Too sick to choose my own boyfriend and yet somehow healthy enough to appear on sitcoms and morning shows, and to perform for thousands of people in a different part of the world every week.

'From that point on, I began to think that he saw me as put on the earth for no other reason than to help their cash flow.'

Britney has also claimed Jamie fat-shamed her and was verbally abusive during drinking binges when she was a child.

According to excerpts viewed by The Sun, the singer accused Jamie of bullying her over her weight and of being 'mean, apathetic and cold' after 'drinking until he couldn't think'.

The singer was scared to drive in the car with him not knowing how much he had consumed.

'Dad drank until he couldn't think,' Britney said in the book, according to The Sun. 'He disappeared from home for several days at a time. And when he was drunk, he got really mean.'

The singer claimed Jamie's battle with alcohol had a significant impact on his ability to provide for his family on financial and emotional levels.

'The stress of not having any money was compounded by the chaos caused by Dad's extreme mood swings,' Britney said. 'I was especially afraid to get in the car with him because he used to talk to himself while driving. I didn't even understand what he said. He seemed to be in his own world.'

Britney said in hindsight, she believes Jamie's drinking and parenting problems were the result of an abusive upbringing he suffered at the hands of his father June Spears.

'At the time I had no idea why he was so hard on us, and why nothing we ever did seemed good enough in his eyes,' Britney said in the memoir. 'To me, the saddest thing was that I had always just wanted a father who loved me just the way I was - someone who said, "I love you, period. You can do anything. I would love you forever unconditionally."'

Britney said after she hit pop superstardom, her father repeatedly scrutinized her appearance.

He 'repeatedly told me I looked fat and that I was going to have to do something about it,' she said.

Elsewhere, the popstar once again claimed that the decision to put her into the controversial guardianship was made by her father, now 71, with support from her mother Lynne and a business manager, Louise (Lou) M. Taylor.

Lou Taylor, 58, has continually denied allegations that she was the mastermind behind the decision, while Jamie has always insisted his decisions were an effort to protect his daughter from financial exploitation.

She revealed how she was forced to take 'prepacked medication' and treated like a child who couldn't function for themselves.

'I went from partying a lot to being a total monk,' she wrote. 'Security guards handed me prepackaged envelopes of meds and watched me take them. They put parental controls on my iPhone. Everything was scrutinized and controlled. Everything.'

Much of the duo's feud has played out publicly on  Britney's explosive Instagram account, centered around the singer's accusations that her mom did very little to get her out of the 13-year conservatorship.

Another blow was dealt to their already-fractured relationship not long after the conservatorship was overturned - when Lynne requested that Britney be made to pay her $660,000 attorney bill.

Controversially, Lynne had published her own memoir Through The Storm: A Real Story Of Fame And Family In A Tabloid World in 2008, the year Jamie was made Britney's conservator after the pop star's months-long mental breakdown.

Britney would later accuse her mother of 'secretly' ruining her life and being the real mastermind behind her conservatorship in a now-deleted Instagram post published in November.

'My dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago … but what people don't know is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea,' Britney captioned, adding that Jamie was 'not smart enough' to come up with the idea.

She continued: 'She secretly ruined my life … and yes I will call her and [Britney's former manager] Lou Taylor out on it … so take your whole 'I have NO IDEA what's going on' attitude and go f*** yourself!!!!'

More recently in a post published in April of this year, Britney alleged that her mother 'thrived on drama' and that she would argue with a 'drunk' Jamie 'every night of my life.'

However, while Lynne and her daughter showed signs of reconciling earlier this year - when Britney revealed that her mother had been to pay her a visit at her home in California in May - that rapprochement was short-lived insiders tell DailyMail.com , claiming that the popstar has since cut ties with her family one again in the wake of her divorce from Sam Asghari.

Lynne is now working part-time at a local school in order to supplement her income. According to the source, Lynne's so-called money struggles have come as a result of her ongoing rift with her multi-millionaire daughter, with whom she shares an incredibly complicated relationship - which the insider says has 'seriously impacted' her finances.

She worked as a teacher and ran a daycare in Kentwood, Louisiana, prior to Britney's rise to superstardom in the early 2000s.

Britney has also claimed she drank daiquiris with her mother Lynne during short road trips after The All-New Mickey Mouse Club ended in 1995.

The star - who would have been 13 or 14 at the time -  said she had just returned to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana and would go for two-hour drives with her mother to Biloxi, Mississippi to indulge in 'toddies'.

In an excerpt published by People on Tuesday, she admitted they did that occasionally as compared to her father's alleged, more concerning drinking habits.

The Toxic hitmaker said she only yearned for 'normalcy' as a teenager but realized that her family really was not 'normal'.

'For fun, starting when I was in eighth grade, my mom and I would make the two-hour drive from Kentwood to Biloxi, Mississippi, and while we were there, we would drink daiquiris,' she wrote in her book.

'We called our cocktails "toddies",' she recalled. 'I loved that I was about to drink with my mom every now and then.'

She made a point to note that 'the way we drank was nothing like how my father did it'.

Britney Spears' love history: Justin Timberlake heartbreak, 55-hour Vegas marriage and toxic divorce and custody battle with K-Fed that ended in a 5150 psychiatric hold

But, just 14 months after tying the knot, Britney, 41, and Sam, 29, have split.

Donald 'Reg' Jones (1995–1997)

Britney got her first official boyfriend, Reg Jones, when she was only 14 and he was 17.

In Lynne Spears' 2008 memoir Through The Storm, Britney's mother claimed that it was actually Jones whom her daughter lost her virginity to, not her future boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

In 2001, Jones put up two letter than the singer had written him while she was a teen, include one in which she broke up with him.

Justin Timberlake (1998–2002)

Britney's first serious relationship was with her former Mickey Mouse Club costar Justin Timberlake, who was then part of NSYNC.

Following their 2002 split, the singer publicly blamed Spears for their break up and used his 'heartbreak' to promote his music. A lookalike actress was also used to represent Spears in his video for Cry Me A River, which fans took to be a breakup song about their relationship.

Timberlake later wrote in an open apology that he was 'deeply sorry' and would 'take accountability' admitting that he had 'failed' her, after their relationship came under fresh scrutiny following the release of documentaries looking into Spears' conservatorship.

Wade Robson (2002)

The Toxic singer reportedly moved on in the wake of her split from Timberlake with choreographer Wade Robson, who worked for both her and Justin's group NSYNC.

Although it was never been confirmed by any of the trio, at the time it was rumoured that Wade was the real reason for the Justin and Britney split.

Yet their relationship was short lived and Britney and Wade had split within the year.

After the breakup with Robson, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst claimed that he dated Britney, though she denied that they ever had a relationship.

The couple spent time together when working on songs for Britney's new album.

'It just became a fiasco of madness,' Durst told MTV of the alleged breakup. '[But] I always stay true to my heart and true to everything I did and my intentions, and I am in no way a liar.'

Britney was also rumored around this time to have dated Jared Leto, but he never confirmed the alleged romance and she denied that they were eve ran item.

After they were seen together, she said they were just 'really good friends.'

The dating rumours started after fans theorised that Spears had gone after Leto because he was Cameron Diaz's ex and Diaz, at the time, was dating Spears' ex Timberlake.

Colin Farrell (2003)

There was clearly something going on between Britney and actor Colin Farrell in 2003, when they were seen kissing at the premiere of his film The Recruit, where they also walked the red carpet.

However, he shrugged the affectionate display off and said he was 'just a 26-year-old guy who's single and having a good time.'

While their fling may only have lasted a week, Farrell memorialized their relationship by sending Spears a shirt that read: 'I slept with Colin Farrell and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.'

Columbus Short (2003)

Britney dated within her own organization when she hooked up with her backup dance Columbus Short in 2003.

Short, who subsequently starred on Scandal, later claimed that he overheard Spears' parents Lynne and Jamie Spears refer to him by the N-word when she was on speaker phone with them, though he didn't specify who said it and they both denied using the word.

Columbus claimed to have only had sex with her once, and he claimed he was fired after he failed to reciprocate her affections.

Jason Alexander (2004)

Britney's first (brief) marriage was to Jason Alexander, who had been her friend since childhood. He ended up crashing her wedding to Sam on the morning of the nuptials.

The couple tied the knot on a whim in the early morning hours on January 3, 2004 during a ceremony at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were both 22 years old at the time.

Their marriage was annulled 55 hours later, which Alexander later claimed was forced by Britney’s mother, Lynne, and Britney’s management. Following the annulment, Spears said in an interview: 'It was me being silly, being rebellious.'

Yet 18 years after their union it seems Alexander hasn't lost his feelings for Spears, as just hours before she was was due to marry her long-term partner Sam Asghari, 28, at her home Alexander broke onto the premises to crash the wedding.

Britney's first husband Jason Alexander has been booked in to jail after dramatically livestreaming himself crashing her wedding at her Thousand Oaks mansion.

Jason is now in the custody of the Ventura Sheriff's Department having been charged with trespassing, vandalism and two batteries after a couple of altercations with Britney's security guards.

Minutes before he was apprehended, Alexander managed to broadcast himself on Instagram as he ran through hillside trails, as he approached the rear of Spears' home.

The 40-year-old was easily able to scale a fence, descend a rocky hillside and slip inside the wedding venue, all-the-while telling security exactly who he was, and why he was there - just hours before the fairytale ceremony got underway.

Alexander's arrest is the third arrest in 13 months. Police sources revealed he also has a felony warrant for larceny in another county.

He was last in police custody for driving under the influence in January 2021 and breaking security protocols at an airport in August. Alexander was also arrested previously for violating an order of protection and stalking an unidentified woman in December 2021.

On Thursday night, Spears' attorney revealed he was 'absolutely livid' after Alexander crashed the pop star's wedding venue and demanded he be locked up.

Kevin Federline (2004–2007)

The songstress' next relationship also resulted in a marriage.

Britney and Kevin Federline, a backup dancer, would go on to share her two sons: Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15.

The couple divorced in 2007, and it was her struggles with custody that factored into the creation of her conservatorship.

In January 2008, she locked herself in a bathroom with the children when it was time to return them to their father. The police were subsequently called, and Spears was put on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Spears hit the dating scene quickly following her divorce when she got together with the music producer J. R. Rotem, who produced her song Everybody.

Following their fling, Rotem shocked with a graphic kiss and tell interview, crudely announcing 'I f**ked Britney wheelbarrow style - It was tractor style.'

Reflecting on their union, Rotem later said: 'It was kind of a stupid phase I was going through, where I wouldn’t say that I was being a bad person but I would say that I was being not very genuine to who I am and what it is that I’m supposed to do.'

'Far from the trashy drunk, I saw a very shy, sweet girl who was just desperately sad about what had happened with her marriage.'

Ghalib claimed in 2008 that he had a sex tape featuring Spears in an apparent bid to shop it around, though he later claimed his statements were fabricated, according to The Daily Beast

Britney's father Jamie successful won a restraining order to keep Ghalib away from his daughter by claiming that the photographer alerted paparazzi to Britney's whereabouts and then got a fee from them.

Sources claimed to Hollywood Life after their breakup that the two separated after Britney's father Jamie suggested he wasn't a good match for her.

She met Sam in 2016 when he appeared in her Slumber Party music video, and the two quickly hit it off after that.

They went Instagram official in January 2017, and Sam was by her side amid the battle to end her long-running conservatorship.

Spears announced their engagement on September 12, 2021, and she followed the good news up by having her conservatorship terminated in November of that year.

In April 2022, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, but Britney revealed just a month later that she had suffered a miscarriage.

'Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news,' she wrote on Instagram.

They married on June 9 2022 at her Thousand Oaks home in a ceremony attended by Madonna.

The pair's split was revealed in August 2023.
