Physical star Rose Byrne has confirmed she'd "absolutely" sign on to appear in another Bridesmaids movie if a sequel was green-lighted.

The actress starred as Helen in the 2011 movie alongside Wonder Woman 1984 star Kristen Wiig and The Little Mermaid's Melissa McCarthy.

In an interview with People magazine, she shared her love for her co-stars and the fun they had on set together.

"I would do a Bridesmaids sequel this afternoon, right now," Byrne said. "That group of women was the most magical thing ever. Almost all of us were really good friends already. I think it was such a magical time."

Bridesmaids proved to be a hit at the box office back in 2011, grossing over $288 million worldwide. It also remains executive producer Judd Apatow's highest-grossing movie to date.

Byrne suggested the original film's popularity meant a sequel would carry with it a great deal of pressure and expectation.

"It’s a hard act to follow because the first film was so great," she said. "It was so magical and so beloved. Maybe we could do a different movie together. A re-imagining of something."

Byrne joked that she'd even be up for a sequel even if the cast are "all in our 90s and [writers] Kristen [Wiig] and Annie [Mumolo] are like, 'Should we team back up?' I'd be like, 'Yes. Yeah, we should'."

While admitting to missing all the Bridesmaids ladies, she caught up with co-star Wiig not so long ago.

"I saw Kristen Wiig recently. It was so lovely to see her. I hadn't seen her for so long, and they've all got such a special place in my heart," said Byrne.

Her Bridesmaids co-star Melissa McCarthy has been promoting her part as Ursula in the upcoming Little Mermaid live action film this May. Meanwhile, Byrne has a busy summer ahead as her Apple TV+ series Physical returns for its final season in August.

Last September, it was also announced that Byrne was teaming up with husband Bobby Cannavale for a new comedy movie.

It's not the first time the husband and wife duo have worked together, with previous projects including Spy, Annie, Mrs. America, Adult Beginners, and Seriously Red.
