The women’s singles category of the French Open ended with Iga Swiatek defending her title. Although Karolina Muchova couldn’t overcome the challenge of the world no.1, she fought with the utmost panache till the end. One cannot deny that Muchova houses quite a lot of talent after defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinal of the French Open. To add to the fact, a recent video of Muchova was released, which showed her prowess when she was just 12 years old. Additionally, her playing style also reminded viewers of the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal.
Although Muchova fought hard in the clay major, she almost gave up tennis a year ago. With her career plagued by injuries, Muchova’s doctors were advising her on how to continue. Suggestions took a dark turn as she was also advised to retire.

When she was just 12, Muchova was oozing talent. Her tennis game has not become strong just recently; the talent has always resided with the Czech player. While she used to be a frequent top-20 player, recent bouts with injuries have thrown her into the top 50s.
As she was able to maintain her fitness, Muchova has started showing her real talent. As the world witnessed her best performance in the WTA Tour to date at Roland Garros, a childhood video of hers showed the amount of talent she possesses.

While Muchova is reminding people of several players, she almost gave up tennis not long ago.
Muchova was about to retire
The Czech player blew past Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinal. In the post-match press conference, Muchova talked about how she almost gave up on her career. With being out of the top 20 for a while due to injuries, Muchova had to reevaluate many decisions. Her doctors even told her that she should consider retiring as an ankle injury had her leaving the 2022 French Open in a wheelchair.

But Muchova threw caution to the wind. She played whenever she had the chance, and it paid off for her, as one could see in the clay major final.
