WWE inducted Kane in the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year during WrestleMania weekend. His induction was truly well-deserved as he is one of the greatest WWE Superstars.

Notably, ‘The big Red Machine’s made his WWE debut in 1997 and creates history each passing year. However, before becoming the legendary Kane, Glenn Jacobs portrayed another character.

When Kane debuted as Isaac Yankem, DDS in WWE

WWE’s ‘Big Red Machine’ didn’t really get off to a red hot start in his WWE Career. Kane originally made his WWE debut as Isaac Yankem, DDS, an evil dentist, who was also Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler’s private dentist.

The Isaac Yankem, DDS, gimmick was the brainchild of Vince McMahon, but it never clicked with the audience and the character quickly faded in a year. Yes, Kane’s original WWE gimmick only lasted one year.

But why are we talking about it? Well, because Dave Batista has made the plea!

WWE uploaded a clip of Batista’s first WWE TV appearance as Deacon Batista on Twitter. ‘The Animal’ responded and asked them to focus on Kane being Isaac Yankem, DDS, earlier.

It seems like the Guardians of the Galaxy star isn’t a fan of his look or gimmick from his WWE debut.

Either way, it was all said in good spirit, but we thought why not actually reflect back on the ‘Big Red Machine’s’ past. So, although Isaac Yankem, DDS, was Kane’s gimmick on WWE TV, it wasn’t his original gimmick. Kane/Glenn Jacobs originally debuted as Mike Unabomb in WWE (then WWF) but never appeared on TV.

Glenn Jacobs didn’t get the Kane gimmick immediately after the failure of Isaac Yankem, DDS. Instead, more failure was coming for him.

Jacobs assumed the disastrous fake Diesel gimmick in WWF’s fake Diesel and Razor Ramon storyline when the original ones (Nash and Hall) jumped ship to WCW.

Luckily, the fake Diesel and Razor Ramon storyline didn’t last long, and Vince McMahon pulled the plug on it in just six months.

WWE then came up with the ‘Kane’ character, and Jacobs re-debuted as Kane – the Undertaker‘s estranged brother, six months later at In Your House: Badd Blood. And the rest, as they say, is history!
