We are associated with a group of artisans who are skilled in the art of carving raw blocks of granite stone into beautiful masterpieces. This is an old world carving process that is very unique and labor intensive. Just to find the raw granite is hard enough and then the process of carving by chisels and iron tools is almost a lost art.

The intricate carvings found on our website are hand done and some irregularities are a result of the making process.The minor cracks or openings that you see are an inherent nature of these old carvings. However, they are not to be considered as a defect or damage, but rather a result of their being hand carved and truly one of a kind. Some are joints between pieces of wood as panels are put together to create this size carving and others are just where the carving has deepened and a crevice has formed. We often use wood filler for such occasions which sometimes come loose during shipping and handling of the piece.

Not only is the door so cool, the young man who delivered it was a very nice guy. I was nervous about the door, not being able to see it in person before purchasing. Upon arrival, our contractor, who received the shipment for me, said “it was one of the coolest doors he’s ever seen.” It’s going to be our pantry barn door. Thank you for the unique touch to our remodel.
