Examining the Corsair XMS XPERT Memory:The XPERT memory comes in larger than usual packaging and shows off the modules and LED displays quite nicely. The specifications can been seen on the modules themselves, so the user knows exactly what they are purchasing. The back of the box lists some of the general features and sample LED displays. Included with the memory is a quick install guide, and the Corsair Memory Dashboard software on a CD. The XPERT modules might look similar to the Corsair Pro series with the oversized heatsinks. The main difference on these modules is the pins along the top that connect to the LED displays. The display itself is notched, and will only align one way with the memory, however it is versatile in that it can be offset on either side to give proper spacing on the motherboard. Have no fear if the display is upside down once installed in your PC, the Memory Dashboard software allows you to invert the displays. As can be seen with this sample setup, the modules & displays provide adequate clearance when fully populating all the memory slots. The SPD info did show a listing for 200FSB at 2-2-2-5 timings, and the system booted up correctly at these timings.
