Federation Square is an iconic Melbourne destination, located on the edge of the central business district. It’s an open forecourt that holds extraordinary events and a gathering place to celebrate art and culture.

A distinct feature of Fed Square is the wrap-around Digital Facade wall on the Transport building. The display lights up the square 24/7 with curated art content, live news, sporting and cultural events.

The state of the art screen is installed on the Northern, Eastern and Southern faces of the building, rises five-storey tall and comprises four million pixels and 850 LED panels. It features environment sensors that adjust the screens brightness and temperature sensors that provide feedback on the display’s health.

Fredon was engaged to complete the installation and audiovisual integration of the LED wall.

The project commenced in October 2017 and was completed in August 2018.
