Sorry, Gen Z.

Megan Fox is a true chameleon when it comes to hair trends. She has rocked everything from Tinker Bell bangs and waist-length waves to bright pink hair—but her latest hairstyle is sure to divide fans, particularly those belonging to different generations.

Let's rewind quick: Remember back in February 2021, when Gen Z canceled side parts? Apparently the only way to wear your hair in 2022 is with a middle part. Anything remotely sideswept? Sorry, it means you're old, pal. For us millennials who grew up during the MySpace era, wearing your hair huuugely swept to the side—while writing “rawr” on our canvas shoes and wearing fingerless gloves year-round, of course—was very much the in thing. Thanks to endless cans of hairspray and the cheapest gel we could get our hands on, our hair basically defied gravity. It was quite impressive, actually.

So, back to the present day, and it's good news for us oldies, as Megan Fox has officially uncanceled side partings. Anyone born after the mid-’90s, look away now.

Makeup artist Ash Kholm posted the below behind-the-scenes clip on July 27, which is actually a throwback to a shoot Megan did a few weeks back with her go-to hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos. Her hair is shorter than usual with bouncy curls and, of course, that noticeably sideswept part.

“All hands on deck for finishing touches,” Kholm shared on TikTok, while at the time, Giannetos posted: “MEGAN 💥💥💥 Short-ER and bouncy for stunning #MEGANFOX.”

Okay, it may not be the super sideswept, gravity-defying side part of our scene-kid days, but it's certainly a nostalgic antidote to 2022's obsession with middle parts. And if there is one thing we are sure of, it's that Meg can pull off any damn hairstyle under the sun.
