Smurfs #18: The Finance Smurf, The
When Papa Smurf is hurt in a lab accident he sends a smurf to the good wizard Homnibus for help. Although Homnibus has a cure, he needs to buy some seeds he’s missing for the recipe. Fascinated by this exchange of commerce among the humans, the smurf returns to Smurf Village as Finance Smurf! After teaching his fellow smurfs how to buy things with money, some smurfs get rich while others don’t, and things quickly tumble into disarray. Will the smurfs find a way back to the peaceful way things used to be?

Aku jadi berpikir, sebenarnya cerita-cerita mengenai kehidupan Smurf saat kacau ini sebenarnya merupakan sindiran terhadap sifat dan sikap buruk manusia.
Karena seorang Smurf ke dunia manusia, dia jadi mengenal alat tukar bernama uang. Dan ... dia kepingin menerapkan cara pembayaran negeri manuasia itu ke negeri Smurf. And try to guess! Yes, chaos! Stupidily chaos! Lol!

L'histoire est bonne mais en même temps, j'ai trouvé que ça faisait trop leçon. Et depuis quand les schtroumpf ont des défauts flagrants comme l'avarice!?

Dai, questo è carino. E prende in giro in maniera molto evidente il capitalismo moderno. La storia prende il la quando un puffo, andando in città, scopre che tutto è regolato dalle monete. E decide di portare nel villaggio. E ci riesce perché Grande Puffo è temporaneamente fuori uso a causa di un esperimento riuscito male.
Ovviamente il denaro non funziona nel mondo Puffo. Infatti, è solo il puffo finanziere che riesce ad arricchirsi, mentre altri - come Pigrone o Poeta - si ritrovano ben presto a chiedere prestiti a tutti. Con la scusa che tutto ha un prezzo, poi, non si mette più mano al villaggio e qualche infrastruttura comincia a crollare.
Bella la battuta di Puffetta, costretta a fare il bucato e a prendersi cura di tutti senza vedere mai un soldo.
Gargamella mi sembra un po' inutile qua, ad essere onesti.

Une belle allégorie du capitalisme qui s'installe dans le régime collectiviste et utopique des Schtroumpfs. L'argent crée des inégalités, rend les fêtes qui étaient au paravent faciles à faire plus dures à organiser, et une grande partie des Schtroumpfs finit par s'endetter car leur travail n'est pas mis en valeur par l'argent. Tout ce système finit en fiasco, tous les Schtroumpfs rejettent leur or et le schtroumpf financier finit par annuler toutes les dettes et par rendre les maisons qu'il avait acheté. Comme le dit si bien le grand schtroumpf : "l'argent a été schtroumpfé PAR les humains POUR les humains, et ce qui est bien pour eux n'est pas toujours bon pour nous, le schtroumpfs !"

The Smurfs are awesome, but i think this book is my favourite. mainly because of all the wacky things that happen while the villaige is obbesessed with MOOLAH!!!$$$$$$$

Det sista albumet med Smurferna som den ursprunglige skaparen Peyo var involverad i, för första gången på svenska. Efter ett antal klassiska album, där humor och samhällskritik blandades i en skön mix sjönk kvalitén och jag tappade intresset. Här har dock Peyo helt tydligt försökt sig på att återskapa storheten i de tidigare berättelserna genom att ta sig an ännu ett stort ämne: kapitalismen. Den kloka ledaren Gammelsmurf är sjuk och sängliggande, och de ledarlösa smurferna genomför en radikal förändring i sitt lilla idylliska samhälle: de introducerar pengar. Naturligtvis går det som man kan vänta sig i en dylik fabel, girighet förstör allt som var bra med den solidariska och harmoniska lilla byn. En underhållande och samtidigt sedelärande liten berättelse som nästan, men inte riktigt lever upp till de tidigare berättelsernas nivå. Cobolts produktion är som alltid utsök och jag skulle önska att alla fransk-belgiska seriealbum som utkom när jag var liten var så här välgjorda och snyggt utformade.

Hampir smurf ya dengan smurf Obelix dan Kawan-kawan, di mana suatu smurf yang selama ini smurf damai dan bahagia tanpa kehadiran "uang", akhirnya jadi smurf gara2 smurf yang satu itu...
Dan akhirnya mereka pun smurf untuk kembali tak beruang. Iya lah, kan mereka smurf... :p

Kayaknya kalo di dunia ini, sama seperti kehidupan para smurf tanpa koin / uang, mungkin lebih bisa dinikmati.

This is a terrific introduction to kids regarding how finance works, buying and selling and also the dangers of greed and monopolies. All of this is explained breezily and through the fantastic humour of Peyo. The story and plot is so much more fulfilling than movies.

Clever story showing a lot of depth to how money works in a somewhat oversimplified scenario. A good introduction to money for kids. Doesn’t go into a lot of detail about why money works better in some situations than others, but it does well in demonstrating why it didn’t work for the Smurfs.
