Barack Obama Continues His Retirement Style Tour on the Golf Course

Seriously, where was this guy for the last eight years?

It's only been 54 days since Barack Obama stopped being this nation's president and in that time, the two-term commander-in-chief took a much-deserved epic vacation and got down to business doing the one thing he couldn't while in office: throwing down more style than most men do in a lifetime. Our theory: the guy was just pretending to be a mediocre dresser this whole time. And now that he's free to wear whatever he wants, Obama is on fire.

While golfing at a local country club in Oahu, Hawaii on Monday, the former president proved he has the fashion chops to make even the least stylish sport look cool—no easy task in a world full of ill-fitting polos and fluorescent sports visors. In fact Obama looked so good, we're propping him up as the inspiration for a new wave of stylish young golfers. Compared to what he wore on the green in 2014, this week's looks is an impressive upgrade if we've ever seen one.

On the left, is everyone's Costco-outfitted dad and on the right, a man who's about to steal your girlfriend. Gone are the baggy, wrinkled beige cargo shorts, oversized polo shirt, standard-issue spat-looking cleats in favor of the new and improved Barack Obama golf fit: a pair of jewel-toned tailored shorts (above the knee, thank you) a fitted polo, and a fresh pair of Nike Lunar Mont Royal golf shoes. The improved fit makes the man look younger and more in shape than he has in years (that windsurfing paid off). Heck, even his ball cap is an improvement, thanks to its lack of logos and recent dad hat trends. What's best of all, we will never have to see him rocking a cell phone belt clip again. Let's face it, that alone would have been an improvement worth celebrating.
