champion John Newcombe (born 1944 in Sydney, Australia) was the
Australian junior champion (1961-1963) before winning his first Grand Slam with
doubles partner Tony Roche (1965) - in all they won 12, more than any other
men's team. In singles play, Newcombe won Wimbledon (1967, 1970, 1971),
the US Open (1967, 1973) and the Australian Open (1973-1975). In
1984, he hosted the Los Angeles Summer Olympics for Australian broadcast.
Although he lives in Australia, he operates The John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in
New Braunfels, Texas. Fine condition.
