Janina Gavankar is set to enter the world of Borderlands.
The Indian actress and director is set to play Commander Knoxx, a new character being introduced to the Lionsgate movie. The cast for the video game adaptation includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Haley Bennett, Edgar Ramirez and Jack Black.
Filmmaker Eli Roth is directing Borderlands from a script by Craig Mazin, the Emmy-winning creator of HBO’s Chernobyl.
Gavankar most recently starred alongside Ben Affleck in Warner Bros. The Way Back, and appeared opposite Riz Ahmed and Octavia Spencer in the Invasion feature for Amazon.
Gavankar’s credits include HBO’s True Blood and Fox’s Sleepy Hollow.
