To promote her new The Muppets movie – her first onscreen appearance in 12 years — Miss Piggy — who plays a plus-size fashon editor complete with Anna Wintour hairdo — wears several designer creations in the November issue of InStyle.
In the editorial fashion spread, she wears several couture creations: Prabal Gurung‘s white duchess silk empire waist, a black feathered frock with a lace mask by Jason Wu, sandals to complement her hoofs by shoe designer Brian Atwood, as well as designs by Suno, Opening Ceremony, and Giles & Brother.

Of his Miss Piggy creation, Prabal Gurang told WWD: “I didn’t want to dress Miss Piggy in anything that would take away from her bold personality so I went with a simple, classic dress and neutral color. The empire waist really complements her figure.”

And in a video interview on InStyle’s Facebook page, Miss Piggy admits to having warehouses of shoes in several countries and a bit of a crush on George Clooney and Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn: Part 1 hunks Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
But she dismisses any competition with fellow fashionista Lady Gaga, who wore an Animal Muppet character fuschia dress and a coat of many dead Kermits (by Jean Charles de Castlebajac) in 2009. “Those were faux frogs,” sniffs Miss Piggy. “I’ve had the real Kermit wrapped around my neck.”

The Muppets — starring Amy Adams and Jason Segel, (with cameos by Neil Patrick Harris, Jack Black, Rashida Jones and Sarah Silverman) opens on Nov. 23. In the meantime look for her to be a guest judge on Project Runway All-Stars, and to promote her line of limited edition MAC Cosmetics, due out Nov. 14.
We love Miss Piggy’s fashon credo expressed in InStyle: “Style is about expressing your inner self, capturing your personal ethos, and, most importantly, spending someone else’s money.”
Now there’s a pig after our own hearts.
