Ahead of new comic book miniseries Nice‘s release, Heat Vision has an early look at the cover for issue No. 2.
The assassin comic book is based on an unproduced script for a TV pilot, and tells the story of two hipster assassins who learn the organization that employs them is trying to take over the United States. The pair joins forces with a gunslinging female detective who had hunted them down before the trio realizes they have a bigger evil to take on.
The cover comes from David Mack, the veteran artist whose work includes Marvel’s Daredevil, Dark Horse’s Fight Club 2 and the credits for Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Winter Soldier.
“I tried to include a sense of the characters [Grace and Kevin] in the outline shape, and point to a personal story of Detective Hanin as the painting inside,” Mack says of the cover, which will be offered as a cover B in addition to a cover A from interior artist Marc Rene.
Nice is created by Joseph Ettinger, known for Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, and Dagen Walker. It will be published by American Gothic Press. The script comes from Echo Lake Entertainment, which has a deal with American Gothic Press to create original comic books from upcoming screenplays. Nice is their first collaboration.
Issue No. 1 of Nice, with covers by Rene and Tula Lotay will be available Dec. 5. The second issue hits in January 2019.
