Erub (Darnley) Island is an island formed by volcanic action and situated in the eastern section of the Torres Strait, near the Great Barrier Reef and just south of the Bligh entrance.

Indigenous Voice report supports Torres Strait representation from the region and mainland Australia
The exhibition, called Au Karem ira Lamar Lu, will be on display at the Asian Civilisations Museum and will feature sculptures of marine animals from the Erub Arts Centre.
To raise awareness of the negative impact ghost nets can have on the marine environment the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFMA) is working with local Torres Strait artists to turn this harmful waste product into works of art and in turn educate about marine pollution.
