Best time to see Saturn in the sky is right now

The Earth is positioning itself between the sun and Saturn right now. This is known as opposition and it also means the ringed planet is especially bright in the sky.

NASA says "Saturn reaches opposition with the Sun on April 28, when it is visible all night long. An object is at opposition when the sun is on one side of Earth and the object is directly on the opposite side. The result is that the object is fully illuminated by the sun and appears disk-like. We see a great example of an opposition every month. Whenever there is a full moon, the moon is on one side of Earth and the sun is on the opposite side."

The peak of the Saturn opposition is Sunday night. The planet will rise in the eastern sky at dusk and appear to move west in the sky as the Earth rotates Arizona towards sunrise Monday morning.

Saturn can be seen with the naked eye but to see the rings you need to use a telescope. Binoculars will work to pick out the bright color of the planet but they are not powerful enough to see the rings.
