Der Königstuhl

The Königstuhl is a 567.8 meter high mountain and only a stone's throw away from the old town of Heidelberg (7 km). From the castle lead a steep staircase (also called Himmelsleiter) and since 1907 also the mountain railways up to the Königstuhl. Even the journey to the Heidelberg mountain is an experience: With the Heidelberg cable cars it goes from the bottom station Kornmarkt on the stations Castle and Molkenkur to the Königstuhl. Alternatively, the bus line 39 leaves every hour from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm from Bismarckplatz to the Königstuhl.
