Have you heard about the adaptive cycle? It can be a useful model for helping us think about transition processes within complex systems. The adaptive cycle is a model developed by C.S. Holling for understanding macro processes of change in ecosystems, however, the adaptive cycle is equally applicable to any complex adaptive system. Technology is important at 2 levels: 1) Elemination of repetitive tasks 2) Summary of complex systems. U.T.O.M for instance can rank 170 countries per a derivative of game theory and can give a good idea of sinking positions and sinking motion. A country is an Object, defined by its relative weight and relative motion. All is computed with Wen Matrices generating WEN(X), WEN(Y), WEN(Z). Of course ., all is applicable in the stock market and many fields of Science. Any Universe is always orderly in a certain dimension, mostly related to PI, as in Architecture. Any Live Matter per definition has ups and downs, cycles, circles and PI. There is no secret. Anybody can figure it out

We introduce a "time bias" parameter to the tradeoff model. That is a fixed cost (which can be negative) to delay, and which can explain why people often prefer to take losses now rather than later. But the model predicts a lot more, and I think it is fair to say this is currently the most comprehensive model of intertemporal choice in the scope of phenomena it correctly predicts. Marc Scholten is the big brain behind this incredibly detailed model and I am so happy to be associated with him (and it) and the rest of the great team, Craig Fox and Dan Walters. We have more to come too, but this is a major instalment.

1moCan you suggest how this model might be used in practice? It seems to be purely descriptive, in that it doesn't seem to offer any insight into the dynamic or contributing factors from which it emerges. All things emerge, exist, then die or are disrupted or destroyed, their components - down to the atoms - to be released and recycled in some way. It's describing how energy and entropy dance in the process of evolution, and how the Universe functions, which is lovely, but how might I use it? Or is that not the aim?
