I genuinely wish I did not have to write this post. Another day, another massive layoff in the video games industry. I'm running out of words to express how sorry I am to the thousands of talented people impacted. All I can say is that I have been in your shoes and it's been a goal of mine every time I see another layoff or studio closure to help as many people as I can find a new job, whether that's with me at Bethesda Game Studios, or elsewhere. Yup. Mandated Return to Office policies remove SO many people from the workforce. Disabled people, Caregivers, Neurodiverse folks, and so many more. There's absolutely nothing that a full office environment gives you that can't be achieved with a hybrid policy.

Toward the tail end of last year and into this year, several for-profit organizations have asked me to provide content for their website/publication. Writing reviews, boosting their content, and filling out a 20-point questionnaire that would take like 4 hours to complete. I'm all for helping out individuals, some start-ups, and nonprofits, but if you're a for-profit company that will profit from my free labor, please don't reach out. I don't have the time or the want to "develop content" for you. My day job and teaching eat up most of my time, also this....
