I AM A FIRST GEN COLLEGE GRAD 🎓✨
Last weekend, I graduated from @carnegiemellon and proudly received by Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minor in Public Policy and Politics which finally concludes my term as Student Body President ❤️
When I first joined CMU, I quickly understood the beast that is higher education and contemplated leaving school, but with the support of Tartan Scholars and my mentors, I found my community and home away from home.
Through all my struggles and victories, I am eternally grateful to have been a part of the first cohort of Tartan Scholars and an (official) alum of Carnegie Mellon University.
Thank you so much to everyone who has been a part of my village ❤️ To any first-generation students contemplating whether they should go college, do it and make your mark on your institution (They will thank you later)!
A very special thank you to these amazing leaders: Branden Ballard, MA, Jennifer Wegner, Patience Whitworth, and my entire community of Tartan Scholars.
I could not have done it without you, thank you for bringing your special talents, and encouraging me use my voice to make CMU a better place for all Tartans.
Watch out world, Tartan Scholars are coming! ✨
My Finance & Accounting internship with PNC has come to a close! While these 10 weeks certainly flew by, I had a great time learning about banking, data analytics, and meeting so many great people along the way- including my capstone team, Madison Dzurko, Brendan O'Donnell and Ethan Bouril, who made working on our M&A project very fun and memorable!
I also can’t thank Katie Banchek, Andrew Henry, and Natalie Chambers enough for all they have taught me these last few months. What an incredible summer with an incredible company… So thankful for this opportunity!
Exactly a week ago I was elected as Carnegie Mellon University’s Student Body President for 2022-23. While there are no words that could adequately describe the gratitude I have for the opportunity to serve this beloved institution in the coming year, I would like to take time to thank Joan Song, my Vice President, Tartan Scholars and our entire campaign team for their tireless efforts in social media, communications, and outreach.
To say the journey here was challenging would be an understatement, but, all in good time, the hard work has paid off. I look forward to providing the stakeholders of our university, our students, with the representation and advocacy they deserve. I am humbled and grateful to be the first Latina, first-generation student body president at Carnegie Mellon. I am excited to pave the way for the next generation of student leaders that will allow our university to progress forward.
Hi LinkedIn Friends & Family!
It has been awhile since I last posted, but I wanted to take time to share some exciting news with you. I am pleased to announce that I have accepted a position as a Corporate Finance and Accounting Intern at PNC Financial Services in Pittsburgh, PA for this upcoming summer!
I would like to especially thank Katie Banchek and Madison Tonarelli who helped support and welcome me to the PNC family throughout the interview process. As a first-generation student, I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and looking forward to this new chapter in a city that I love!
I am honored to announce that I have been selected by the Stennis Center for Public Service to participate in their Stennis Program for Congressional Interns. I am grateful to my Congressional office for nominating me, and I am excited to learn more about Congress and professionally grow, alongside my teammates: Kathleen Griffith, Haley Ledford, Kylie Harlan and Alex Siegal.
A special thank you to Hayden Richardson for leading such an amazing program and making Fridays even more exciting!
Today is my first day as an intern for Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia in the House of Representatives.
While I never thought it would be possible to intern at Capitol Hill, I can’t help but to reflect on how grateful I am for the two individuals who sacrificed everything they had to immigrate from Mexico and provide me with the life and opportunities that I have today.
I am eternally grateful for this opportunity. I can’t wait to meet my team & represent the district that I call home! #TeamGarcia
I am extremely honored to announce that I have been chosen as a Hispanic Scholarship Fund 2021-2022 Scholar!
As a first-generation student, I am honored to be one of the 10,000 students selected this year to hold this distinction. I would like to congratulate all the scholars, and extend a huge thank you to the HSF team! I look forward to being a part of the HSF Scholar community. #hsf#hsfscholar#sisepuede
So honored to have selected to join DLAMP 2021 Cohort and an incredible community of passionate students, mentors, and leaders!
I am looking forward to growing professionally and learning more about Deloitte and a career in consulting from my ambassador Vivian Nieves and coach Karalyn Smith.
