If You're Doing It Alone, You're Doing It Wrong

If You're Doing It Alone, You're Doing It Wrong

One of the best teachers in my life, someone who's also been a mentor to me and still to this day, is an amazing friend.  She once shared with me this, if you're doing it alone, you're doing it wrong, man I latched on to that like my life depended on it.  It was one of the wisest things I ever heard.  Of course, I knew it already because I've been in the self-mastery game for so many years.  That connection is everything, but sometimes you're just ready to hear something and sometimes you hear it in exactly the way you need to hear it. cIf you're doing it alone; you're doing it wrong.  I'm actually right now, I'm taking a walk away from a beautiful spiritual experience, a festival called wonderment and I'm just about to deliver my first talk for the weekend.  And what I'm going to be speaking about is suffering.  Our suffering, all suffering is created by ourselves.  And when we go through life by ourselves, it is much easier to suffer.  I've been a student of natural living and I've studied natural living for almost two decades, and I can tell you that we thrive when we are connected to something outside of ourselves.  Maybe it's nature, maybe it's your community, your family, your tribe.  A purpose, but the connection is where you end suffering and also to get out of suffering and into connection, this will allow you to thrive, and there are only three ways to live your life.  It's to suffer, to survive or thrive.  If you want to thrive in life, I've not nailed life, but I can tell you this without any doubt whatsoever, that if you want to thrive in life, you got to get around the right people.  You've got to be connected to the right energy. You've got to get in the right environment, because your environment and your team, the people you keep around you, whether personally or professionally will determine who you become.  Now, did I read that in a textbook somewhere? Have I just heard someone say that? Actually, yes I have, multiple times, but the reason why I share that with you is because I've seen it and experienced and witnessed it in my life over and over and over again, the more I connect, the more I become, the more I surround myself with the right people and put myself in the right environments, the more I can create myself to be the more I can become. And that's what life's about, creating ourselves and becoming the best version of ourselves.
