Comparison between the Australian XB Coupe
and various USA makes and models
More than a few people have commented that the styling of the Australian XB coupe looks similar in style and shape to some US cars from the same era. Some people have even speculated about building an interceptor replica based on a US car, although to my knowledge no one has actually attempted this yet, and probably with good reason. Although the XB coupe bears similarities with some US models, such as the Mustang and Torino pictured below, it is still different enough that building a replica using would prove quite difficult.
Below is a picture of Mark Scarselli's XB GT coupe, parked next to his cousin's 1971 Boss 351 Mustang. As you can see, there are a few obvious similarities between the cars - and also more than a few differences.
