Actress Janina Gavankar, a longtime friend ofMeghan Markle, was present at the live taping of Chris Rock's Netflix show on Saturday night, where the comedian took jabs at the Duchess of Sussex,.
Gavankar, who has been a close friend of Prince Harry's wife for over two decades and has defended her in the past, joined comedian Dave Chapelle in the VIP Green Room at Baltimore's Hippodrome Theater to watch the historic event.
The actress also appeared to be enjoying the show, laughing and standing up by the TV screens.
During his set, Rock mocked Markle's 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, where she claimed an unknown royal had raised "concerns" about "how dark" their baby might be before their son, Archie, was born. Rock called the royal family the "OGs of racism" and joked that Markle was just dealing with some "in-law s-t."
Gavankar had reportedly been to previous shows where Rock had made similar comments about Markle and the royals, so she knew what to expect.

Gavankar was among the many big names at Saturday's show, including director Spike Lee, Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, and comedians Leslie Jones and Dana Carvey.
Rock imitated Markle's voice, saying she was "acting all dumb" like she didn't know anything. He then claimed to know what Markle was "going through," stating, "I know her dilemma: Black girl trying to be accepted by her white in-laws."
Gavankar, who was a guest at the Sussexes' wedding in May 2018, previously spoke out against the royal family's response to Markle's claims in the Oprah interview, saying that she had lived through the struggles with the couple and had evidence to prove it.
