The Best Cat Café In Sydney? My Time At Pokemeow Cat Café

When I visited Japan many years ago a Cat Café was on top of my to do list. Since then Japan has added a lot more of a variety for "animal themed" Cafés, but also since that time, Australia has opened some of it's very own Cat Cafés.

Which one is the best that Sydney has to offer? Well lucky for you (and me) I bravely raised my hand to volunteer my time to find out!

Pokemeow Cat Cafe

Nestled on the corner of a quiet leafy suburb near Sydney, was the relatively large Pokemeow Cat Café.

Pokemeow Cat Café claim to be "1ST CAT ORNAMENTAL CAFE IN SYDNEY", despite googling, and digging deep I still don't quite understand what this means.

You will not find cat ornaments here, but what you will find is the cutest bunch of kitties.

The Cats

I find that often cats at cat cafes are extra sleepy, not too playful and generally disinterested.

I'm not sure what magic Pokemeow Cat Café are using, but these were some of the sweetest kitties I had ever met.

They have some pretty fancy breeds with Munchkins, a Maine Coone as well as a Sphynx cat. They also had another breed that was in "cat jail" at the time. It looked like a Scottish Fold Mix.

They give you cat treats as part of your entry, so even if you're not the best with cats, the treats will make sure the cats will love you!

They have a smaller roster of cats than what you would usually find at a cat café, but I feel this works very well here.

There were no cat conflicts during our session.

The Café

We paid an extra $5AUD to have a drink included in our entry. The coffee was beautiful and also delivered to you while in the play area. One of the best things about this Cat Café is that it is a full on café, with food included. They offer a classic breakfast/brunch limited menu, but enough choice that you will not be disappointed.

While visiting there were plenty of workers picking up their coffees from here, and plenty of people just visiting to eat.

The food part obviously isn't in the play area, but just to the side of it. You can grab your food and sit by the window to watch the kitties.

So... Is It Worth Visiting Pokemeow Cat Cafe

Yes! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

The space was beautiful, it was easy to get to, the coffee is great, and the main stars of the show are all absolute sweethearts.
