BEAUTIFUL - This Asclepias is so very stunning.Contains the Deep Red, Gold and Scarlet forms, of other Butterfly Weed, all in one. Performs fantastically.

Asclepias carassavica, also known as the Blood Flower, like all asclepias, have very deep tap roots, so special care is needed in transplanting them. If you live in Zone 6 or below, they will need to be grown in pots, and brought into the house, garage or greenhouse for the winter months.
Start seed indoors in a soil-less growing medium from February through March for first year of late summer blooms as this is more like an annual in habit than a perennial which usually start blooming in the second year. Germinate at 75 degrees. Once germinated, grow on under lights slightly on the dry side to prevent damping-off disease. Transplant to well drained soil in a full sun garden location. Space transplants at 12” for best results. Keep soil moist until the plants are established. Asclepias are butterfly feeders with their great nectar.
