Lets see those Hypsophrys Nicaraguensis (Nicaragua Cichlid)

If I try to search them on this site all I get is every thread anyones ever metnioned them, and most have tonnes of pages, so simply enough. If you own or have owned any Nicaraguensis cichlids in the past, post their photo here and tell us a little about the fish!

I know these guys can have various colours and patterns depending on location so this should be interesting!

To start off heres my new guy

Can´t quite get one with all his fins open so these two will have to do.

Wow that female is beautiful! i like the red in the males fins, does he have the speckled patter on the fins also? how large would you say your male is? he doesnt look much bigger than 5" but maybe thats me!

my pair of nics are very docile fish, but can easily hold their own with the larger, more aggressive cichlids. male is pushin' 10". great fish for any new world cichlid community IMO.

Wow now that male is stunning, he has the speckled fins like mine. man I would kill to have my fish turn out like that. Kinda wish I got a female with him now.

Ah I miss my nics. They were one of my favorite fish. They were aggressive when spawning but other wise pretty docile. Had no problem holding their own though. Very nice and underrated fish I hope to keep them again one day.

I used to have this female (she grew a tiny nuchal hump - so odd) but MonteSS has a BEASTLY male in his tank

Mind you that was at the LFS tank, wish I had that chocolate
