A 2013 golf excursion for Tiger Woods and President Barack Obama apparently came with a hefty price tag.
A Washington Times report, citing recent findings from the Government Accountability Office, notes that the four-day trip to Florida cost the departments of Defense and Homeland Security more than $3.6 million.
The trip occurred in February 2013, with Obama logging several hours of instruction alongside Butch Harmon and his son, Claude Harmon III. The commander-in-chief also got in a few rounds at The Floridian in Palm City, Fla., including his first-ever round with Woods, who at the time was ranked No. 2 in the world and coming off a win at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Other guests who joined the President and Woods for golf that weekend included Jim Crane, owner of the Houston Astros, political fundraiser Tony Chase and U.S. trade representative Ron Kirk.
According to the report, the trip included at least 22 total flight legs involving 14 different commercial airlines, both for military support aircrafts and the actual operation of Air Force One, which reportedly costs $200,000 per hour of flight.
The bulk of the bill reportedly went to the Pentagon, which paid $2.8 million while the Homeland Security Department paid another $767,000.
