FLOODS RAVAGE THROUGH THE MID NORTH COAST

Over 300 millimeters fell in parts of the Manning and Great Lakes, cutting off roads, leaving many residents stranded.

Emergency services worked long into the night, rescuing dozens of people between Kempsey and the Great Lakes, while hundreds were evacuated from low lying areas in Tuncurry and Forster.

Conditions have since eased, with major rainfall not expected in the coming days.
