Cricket South Africa's director of cricket Enoch Nkwe said they did not one, but two reviews last season to look after the national team and the domestic system, with the former one identifying that before their failed T20 World Cup, they'd played too much cricket.

The results of the T20 World Cup failure were much anticipated, considering how well the Proteas started that tournament, only for them to bomb out with losses against Pakistan and the Netherlands.

They recorded two good wins against Bangladesh and India after an opening washout against Zimbabwe, but the two reverses against the Netherlands and Pakistan ended their challenge.
