2PM’s Junho, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA in K-drama ‘King the Land’ premiering early 2023

New details have been shared about the supporting cast, which includes Go Won-hee and Ahn Se-ha

JTBC’s upcoming romantic-comedy K-drama series King The Land, led by 2PM’s Lee Junho and YoonA from Girls’ Generation, has released new details on its broadcast schedule.

On September 27, MBC News reported that the upcoming series is set to air in the first half of 2023. JTBC has also since shared additional details regarding the series’ supporting cast, which includes Welcome to Waikiki‘s Go Won-hee and Dali and Cocky Prince‘s Ahn Se-ha, among others.

King The Land is set to follow the journeys of Goo Won, the heir of a chaebol who finds himself fighting to inherit the influential King Group, and Cheon Sa-rang, an ordinary girl who starts work at King Hotel, a place that give her happy memories as a child.

2PM’s Lee Junho will be playing Goo Won, who has been described as someone who has the smarts and the charm, but is not knowledgeable when it comes to dating. Cheon Sa-rang, meanwhile, will be portrayed by Girls Generation’s YoonA. Her character is described as a hotelier who always has a smile on her face, despite the challenging nature of her line of work.

Additionally, Go will be playing flight attendant Oh Pyeong-hwa, one of Sa-rang’s best friends, while Kim Ga-eun will star as “superwoman” Kang Da-eul, another friend of the two women whose strength is closing sales. Ahn will play Goo Won’s secretary No Sang-sik, who joined King Group at the same time as the young heir.

King the Land will be co-produced by Npio Entertainment (The Red Sleeve, Forecasting Love and Weather) and BY4M. Scriptwriter Cheon Sung-il, best known for All of Us Are Dead, is credited as the creator of the upcoming series.
