Ex-Larrikin Love singer Edward Larrikin debuted his new band The Pan I Am at London‘s Lyric Theatre last night (December 9).
Taking to the stage shrouded in darkness with a wall of feedback the band boasted elements of an early Pink Floyd.
Wearing a burgundy velvet suit with matching shoes, Larrikin wandered on and catapulted into a set of weirdo-rock surrounded by flashing strobes.
Making the most of the Hammersmith theatre’s unique setting, the band member’s shadows scattered across the walls while Larrikin skipped around the stage to the band’s violin infused punk-folk.
The eight-song set saw the new group receiving loud applause from the seated crowd which including Patrick Wolf, Babyshambles‘ Drew McConnell and and The Rumble Strips‘ Charlie Waller.

Other performances on the night included a couple of surprise tracks from Wolf (who had been billed as just reading poetry), a solo set from Waller, Johnny Flynn, Polar Bear and poet Jock Scott.
Dressed in green wellington boots and sporting a bohemian farmer’s outfit, Wolf played four tracks, flitting between the violin, ukulele and keyboard.
