TV On The Radio to take year-long break

Band have played their last gig for a while

TV On The Radio frontman Tunde Adebimpe has announced that the band will be taking a year off now they have completed their current tour.

After playing San Francisco‘s Outside Lands Festival, the singer told MTV News it would be their last gig for a while.

“We’ve decided to take, well, the going theory is to take about a year off, because you have to go and live a life and change things up,” he said.

The band have been playing worldwide since the release of their ‘Dear Science’ album last September, and feel a break at home apart from each other is due.

Adebimpe added that the band have been suffering “basic cabin fever” on the bus. He was positive about the break, explaining: “It’s great we’ve been able to do it for so long, but everyone’s kind of got other projects they want to tend to.”

Multi-instrumentalist/producer Dave Sitek intends to complete an album he worked on with Brooklyn-based Pink Noise, and as previously reported guitarist Kyp Malone is releasing a solo record under stage name Rain Machine on September 22.
