John Drawbridge
During his 50 year career John Drawbridge worked in oils, watercolour, stained glass, textile design, created large public murals and as a printmaker produced over 200 limited edition prints.
His works are held in many New Zealand and international collections, including some at Parliament. There are 22 works by John in the exhibition and six are rarely seen large oil paintings held by the family.
Three generations of artists
The wider Drawbridge family also features in the exhibition, making this a unique combination of artists. Contributors are John and Tanya’s two sons, Cameron (art on paper) and Tony (jewellery), as well as extended family.
