A Shack in the Woods
Lens: DA 18-55 Camera: K-x

Here's a shed I found in the woods on some land my family owns. I thought it looked pretty cool. I tried one in sepia, but I've never tried that before, so it definitely could be better. Looks like time for more practice!

While well built in its day, that shack is ready to come down at any given time. I hope for your safety you don't get curious and try to peek inside. Otherwise, you have some excellent clarity of the image. Maybe try a few b&w shots of it in addition to the sepia. Would be interesting to see someone PP it into a vintage style image like you would get from an old plate camera. Overall it's very well done, the 2 saplings frame the doorway well, the light coming through the treetops adds some nice contrast to the darker ground area and shack.

thank you! And no, I definitely have no plans to go in it there's not even a floor in it now. We have metal detected around it, but that's about ad close as I've gotten.

I will try to do the BW and old timey PP as well!

Nicely done and - maybe because it's in "October Country" - kind of spooky.

Looks like some urgent TLC is required, as it may well not standing next time you go back.

thank you, all! It has been there for many decades before I was even born. My dad said that it was somewhere else originally, but moved to that spot in the 1940's. It is far beyond saving, but at least I got some pics while it is there!
