Ripening 'Beurre Bosc' pears (Pyrus communis 'Beurre Bosc'). Also known as Bosc or Royal Beurre Bosc, this is a russet-skinned pear with a rather narrow neck. It has a rather grainy flesh but keeps well and has an excellent flavour. The pear in the background is 'Williams' Bon Chretian' (also known as Williams Pear or Bartlett Pear).
