A toe injury that forced Olympic snowboard gold medallist Torah Bright off Dancing With The Stars has cast a cloud over plans to compete at January's high-profile X Games.

Bright withdrew from the reality television show on Tuesday night because of the injury suffered when she fell heavily while practising a "trick" with dance partner Robbie Kmetoni.

"I've had x-rays which have ruled out broken bones but the tests aren't looking good for the tendon," Bright told AAP on Wednesday.

"After the show was done I was going to spend a few weeks in the gym preparing for the X Games (in Aspen, Colorado).

"I'm hoping it's just a really bad jammed toe and it will be alright."

Bright, who won gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics and silver at the 2014 Games, said she was grateful that appearing on the series has given her the chance to spend extended time in Australia.

"I've been out here for five months and it's the longest I've spent in Australia since high school," Bright said.

"I come out to Australia for the winters and I've been at Thredbo all winter long and I'm hoping to stay until Christmas.

"I'm really enjoying it here and I don't want to leave."
