Despite her tragic passing in the summer of 1997, Princess Diana’s legacy has lived on for generations. Born Diana Frances Spencer, the late Princess of Wales lives on not only in her grown royal sons Prince William and Prince Harry (and her grandchildren George, Charlotte, Louis, Archie, and Lilibet), but in the growing Spencer family in the UK — with sisters Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, brother Charles Spencer, and a gaggle of nieces and nephews to boot. Diana’s descendants keep her memory alive both in the subtle way her genes pop up in young relatives (nieces Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia recently showed off their Diana-esque patrician good looks at Cannes) and in the humanitarian and family-focused work they carry on in her memory.

William was only 16-years-old and Harry was only 12 when their mother passed away in that car crash, and both men have spoken over the years about how much it hurts that she wasn’t able to see them grow up and have kids of their own. Today, she’d have five gorgeous grandkids, nine nieces, and four nephews — and while Diana may no longer be with us, her family members and descendants are still a fixture of UK society both in the royal family and beyond it.

Understandably, many of Diana’s family members inherited the late princess’ distaste for the paparazzi, and have made an effort to stay out of the limelight. Nonetheless, they’ve carved their own paths as humanitarians, fashion models, and more — meet the big family Diana should have been surrounded by today.

Diana’s Sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale

Born March 19, 1955, Lady Sarah McCorquodale is one of Princess Diana’s two older sisters. Sarah is the president of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, working to raise money for charities dear to her late sister. She married Neil Edmund McCorquodale in 1980, welcoming three children soon after.

Jane Fellowes, Baroness Fellowes is Princess Diana’s other older sister (and we can definitely see the resemblance!) She married the then-assistant private secretary to the Queen, Robert Fellowes in 1978, and Diana as was a bridesmaid. The couple later welcomed three children.
Diana’s Brother Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer

Charles Spencer, also known as 9th Earl Spencer, is the youngest sibling in the Spencer family. He’s worked as an on-air correspondent with NBC News from 1986 to 1995, and also worked as a documentary writer and reporter. He founded the Althorp Literary Festival and is a patron of the Northamptonshire County Cricket Club, per his website.

Charles married his first wife Victoria Lockwood in South Africa in 1989, welcoming four children. They divorced in 1997, with Charles marrying Caroline Freud in 2001. The pair welcomed two children, divorcing in 2007. Then in 2011, Charles tied the knot with Karen Gordon, and welcomed a daughter a year later.
Diana’s Niece Lady Kitty Spencer

Lady Kitty Spencer is the eldest daughter of Charles Spencer and Victoria Lockwood, making her one of Princess Diana’s nieces. Lady Kitty is an editorial model and spokesmodel for different luxury brands. She is a graduate of the University of Cape Town, formerly majoring in psychology, politics, and English literature. She then got her master’s in luxury brand management from the European Business School London at Regent’s University London, per The West Australian.

She married South African-British multimillionaire businessman, Michael Lewis in 2021.
Diana’s Niece Lady Eliza Spencer

Born July 10, 1992, Lady Eliza and Lady Katya Amelia are the gorgeous twins of Charles Spencer and his first wife Victoria Lockwood. The model keeps it low-key but frequently posts about her boyfriend Channing Millerd and his five-year-old son Nate on social media.

Twin sister of Lady Eliza, Lady Katya Amelia Spencer is also the proud niece of Princess Diana. She also posts frequently on social media about her latest modeling gigs and her 13-year relationship with high school sweetheart Greg Mallett.

Laura Jane Fellowes is Lady Jane and Robert Fellowes’ eldest daughter, born July 19, 1980. She and her husband of 13 years Nicholas Peter Pettman currently share two sons together, and she’s Princess Charlotte’s godmother, per BBC News.
Diana’s Nieces & Nephews: Emily McCorquodale, Alexander Fellowes, and Eleanor Fellowes

Born July 2, 1983, Emily McCorquodale (furthest on the left in the photo above, next to cousin Prince Harry) is the eldest daughter of Lady Sarah and Neil McCorquodale. She’s the niece of Princess Diana. In 2012, Emily married engineering firm director James Hutt after Emily beat plasmacytoma, a fatal form of cancer, per The Mirror. Emily and James have two children together named Isabella Rosemary, 7, and Henry George Thomas, 5.

Alexander Fellowes (second from the right) is another royal family member and nephew of Princess Di’s that keeps it lowkey. Not much is known about the beloved middle child of Lady Jane and Robert Fellowes. He married Alexandra Finlay in late 2013, and later welcomed two children named Robert, 7, and Rose, 5.

Eleanor Ruth Fellowes (furthest on the right) has also kept a low media profile throughout her life. Eleanor is the youngest child of Jane and Robert Fellowes, born Aug. 20, 1985.

George Edmund McCorquodale is Lady Sarah and Neil’s middle child, born Nov. 1984. He’s kept it lowkey over the years and married Bianca Moore in 2016 in South Africa. They welcomed two daughters named Sybil, 5, and Molly, 2. Prince Harry (pictured here to the right of George as a young boy) actually went to his wedding, and has stayed close with him over the years.

Celia Rose McCorquodale is the youngest daughter of Lady Sarah and Neil McCorquodale, along with being a proud niece to Princess Di. She married a man named George Woodhouse at St. Andrew and St. Mary’s Church in 2018. She actually wore Di’s wedding crown for her special day as well, according to Metro. They have a son named Walter George Spencer Woodhouse, 1.

Charles Spencer also has a few more children who stay out of the spotlight. He has a son named Louis Spencer (pictured here on his dad’s shoulders as a boy), 28, who’s the heir apparent to Charles’ fortune. He had Louis with his first wife Victoria Lockwood before they split up.

Charles also has two children with ex-wife Caroline Freud named Edmund Spencer, 18, and Lady Lara Spencer, 16. Finally, Charles also has a young daughter named Lady Charlotte Diana Spencer, 9, with his wife Karen Gordon. They named her after her late aunt Princess Diana.

We have no doubt Diana would’ve loved having so many nieces and nephews.

Born Jun 21, 1982, Prince William is Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ elder son. He is currently second in line for the throne. Throughout his life, he’s worked to keep his mother’s legacy alive by promoting charities near and dear to him such as environmental issues, HIV/AIDS prevention, and more.

Prince Harry was born Sept. 15, 1982, making him the younger brother of William. As the man who launched the Invictus Games and a passionate mental health advocate, his mother Diana influenced so much of who he is. He’s had an incredible life so far, recently welcoming two children.
