Suki Waterhouse isn’t afraid to get vulnerable, especially when it comes to dating, sex, and everything in between.

In a recent episode of the Driven Minds: A Type 7 Podcast on Oct 4, the Seance star revealed she went through a lengthy “bout of celibacy” before getting together with her longtime boyfriend Robert Pattinson. And she revealed that it was a “brilliant” move for her and her mental health in the long run.

“It’s just something about taking away the chaos of receiving attention, having to deal with it and texting people and getting those lurches of excitement,” she said, adding that she went as far as to go on “no dates [or] no nothing” at that time.

She added, “It turned out to be great. I got very clear and got very comfortable with being by myself — then I ended up meeting my boyfriend.”

The Daisy Jones & the Six star and Pattinson started dating in July 2018, and despite being quite private about their relationship, we know they made a monumental step together when they moved in together back in 2022.

Let’s face it, sex is everywhere, but sex is a very personal experience. It’s important to listen to your body and mental health when navigating it. Waterhouse isn’t the only person, or even celebrity, to open up about having a time where they remain celibate after a relationship. Some have practiced celibacy until marriage, while others do it between relationships like Waterhouse.

It’s all about how you’re feeling, and we love it when celebrities are open about sex life decisions and work to break certain stigmas!
