Oil spill in Queensland, Australia
Cyclones just off of Australia's Queensland coast earlier this week resulted in an oil spill along the Sunshine Coast, eastern Australia. Hong Kong-based vessel the Pacific Adventurer, was caught in the rough seas, causing its hull to pierce and around 11,000 gallons of oil to be spilled into the sea. Nearly 40 miles of Australian beaches have been blackened by oil spilled by the cargo ship leading the state premier to declare the area a disaster zone and warn that the ship's operators could face legal action
