Update Tuesday:
Police and Sutherland Shire Council are inviting residents and business operators to a briefing on the proposed rally to mark the tenth anniversary of the Cronulla riot.
The briefing will be held at Cronulla RSL Club on Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
The council's application for an injunction to stop the rally planned by right-wing extremists is due to be heard by the Federal Court at 9.30am on Wednesday.
Papers were served by the council, via Facebook and in printed form, on Nick Folkes, leader of the Party for Freedom, and Shermon Burgess, who calls himself The Great Aussie Patriot.
Two affadavits, one by the council’s general manager Scott Phillips and Australian Lebanese Muslim GP and community leader, Dr Jamal Rifi, were part of the application.
The rally is planned for Saturday at Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda.
Extreme left-wing group, Anti Fascist Action Sydney, proposes staging a counter rally if the Party for Freedom event goes ahead.

Sutherland Shire Council has made headway in legal moves to stop rallies to mark the tenth anniversary of the Cronulla riot, which are planned for Saturday.
Mayor Carmelo Pesce said the Australian Human Rights Commission had approved council’s request that it be allowed to seek an injunction in the Federal Court to stop the event planned by the extreme right-wing group Party for Freedom.
The council’s grounds for the application were the proposed rally was a breach of the Racial Discrimination Act.
The rally is planned for Don Lucas Reserve, Wanda.

The council’s legal action followed a refusal by Party for Freedom leader Nick Folkes to cancel the rally.
Another right-wing extremist and supporter of the rally, Shermon Burgess, who calls himself The Geeat Aussie Patriot, is also in the council's sights.
In a separate legal move, police will return to the Supreme Court on Thursday to seek their own injunction to the stop the Party for Freedom rally.
The matter came before the court at the end of last week and was put over.
