That's all over now as Sky Sports revealed that Kirsty would be leaving after joining all the way back in 1998.

Who is Kirsty Gallacher?

Kirsty Gallacher is a television presenter who worked for Sky Sports betwen 1998 and 2018.

The news anchor has an extensive depth of knowledge of sport as her father Bernard Gallacher captained Europe to win the 1995 Ryder Cup.

She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on January 20, 1976, and moved to Virginia Water in England, Surrey, when she was 18 months old due to her father's golfing career.

She was married to former England Rugby Union international Paul Sampson from 2010 to 2015, with the couple having two children - Oscar and Jude.

The Sun exclusively revealed that earlier this year she was involved in a six-month relationship with Laurence Fox – the Lewis actor who divorced Billie Piper in 2016.

The pair split up just a few weeks before she was caught drink-driving.

Gallacher is a keen supporter of Hibernian FC.

She has become well-known for her healthy lifestyle and fitness regime, discussing her work-out plan in a series of interviews about keeping in shape.

What is Kirsty Gallacher famous for?

Kirsty Gallacher studied journalism and promotion at the London College of Fashion as she originally wanted to be a fashion journalist.

In 1998, she got her break as a presenter on Sky Sports News after working as a production assistant for two years.

Gallacher was a presenter on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, and also hosted her own Sky1 show Kirsty's Home Videos from 2000-2004.

In 2005 she won the third series of the Channel 4 show The Games, and then became a presenter on the following series.

She returned to Sky Sports News in 2011, and was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in the 2015 series where she was eliminated after week 6.

When did Kirsty Gallacher leave Sky Sports News?

Sky announced on May 25, 2018, that Kirsty would be leaving having decided to "do something fresh and new", and that they will "miss her greatly".

In a statement, Gallacher said: "I have had 20 wonderful years at Sky and will leave with the best memories.

Kirsty was one of the faces of Sky Sports news and helped the channel grow into one of the defining sports channels in the world.

When did Kirsty have a 'fling' with Jack Whitehall?

On April 15, 2018, The Sun exclusively revealed how Kirsty romped with comic Jack Whitehall at a star-studded party.

Kirsty and Jack, 29, went into a room alone after a steamy clinch in front of fellow celeb guests.

A source revealed: “The chemistry between them was brewing all night. They had the hots for each other.

“They later went to the Groucho Club in London’s West End, then to a party at a flat, taking some friends with them.

“When they got there, they ramped things up and weren’t trying to hide it.

“They were kissing and being very touchy-feely before heading off for some privacy. Everybody there knew what was going on.

“Jack’s always had a thing for Kirsty and thinks she’s hot.

“Given that they are both single, they went for it. Who knows if anything serious will develop? But it’s fun for the moment.”

When was Kirsty Gallacher charged with drink driving?

Gallacher was charged with drink-driving after she was pulled over at 11.30am in Eton, Berkshire, on Saturday, August 12, 2017, while on the way to pick up her kids.

She was allegedly spotted driving erratically while on the way to collect her two sons from ex-husband Paul Sampson's house.

 

Hours before her arrest in Eton, Berks, Kirsty had posted a snap of herself enjoying a night out with pals at the Winning Post pub in nearby Winkfield.

A source said the presenter was "incredibly upset", saying it was a "horrible experience".

On September 4 she appeared in Slough Magistrates' Court, admitting to being three times the legal drink-driving limit – following her guilty plea she was banned from driving for two years.
