DINGMAN TOWNSHIP - Dingman Township Volunteer Fire Department (Station 26) is recognizing the actions of their firefighters Lucas Dindiyal and Chriistian Santiago for being their “brother's keeper.”

A February 26 post on the fire department's Facebook post reports that Lucas and Christian immediately notified the Chief of the Department that they received a Facebook message from another firefighter that he was having a mental health emergency.

Thankfully, the firefighter in question was quickly located safe and found to be a victim of spoofing on his Facebook account, the department post states.

“While the outcome of this incident was positive, unfortunately there are many first responders that suffer from mental health emergencies as a result of what they have endured while helping others that do not have the same positive outcome,” the post reads.

“Firefighters Dindiyal and Santiago’s looking out for their brother firefighter’s well being exemplifies the true meaning of brotherhood and our department is honored to have them on the team,” the department post states.

Santiego is from the Bronx. His own Facebook page states he is a firefighter with both Dingman and the Alpha Fire Company. Dindiyal is from Milford.
