What Are Port Jackson Sharks Anyway?

Port Jackson sharks, or Bullhead sharks, are  found in the coastal region of Southern Australia. These blunt headed sharks are nocturnal and not dangerous to humans, possibly because their teeth aren't serrated and and the posterior teeth are broad and flat.

They eat crabs, shrimp, squid and other bottom dwellers.

According to Wikipedia, Juvenile Port Jackson sharks are also capable of learning to associate bubbles, LED lights, or sounds with receiving a food reward, can distinguish different quantities (i.e. count),  and can learn by watching what other sharks are doing.Maybe that's how Fuji learned how to dance!

Sharks are such fascinating creatures and it's so cool to see one of these Port Jackson sharks in action considering during the day they are usually asleep.

If you'd like to meet Fuji for yourself or any of the other fascinating sea creatures at the Newport Aquarium, you can visit their website for information here.
