Tatiana Grigorieva was a hurdler when she left Russia for Australia in 1997, hoping to use the country's best coaches to improve her skills.
But there wasn't a good hurdling coach, so instead she decided to take up the pole vault - probably one of the best decisions she's ever made.
Three years later she was able to compete for Australia, and stunned her adopted crowd at the Sydney Olympics when winning silver.
Then she finished behind US vaulter Stacey Dragila, but since she can't compete in the Commonwealth Games, Grigorieva is the hot favourite for gold.
And she's pretty successful off the track too, spending time modelling on the catwalk and in sexy magazine shoots.
